Azamat Fayzullaev has more than 20 years of experience working as a lawyer in Uzbekistan, with emphasis on banking and finance matters, syndicated loans and secured transactions, mergers and acquisitions.
In 1994 through 1999 Azamat worked as in-house counsel of the National Bank of Uzbekistan – the largest commercial bank of the country. At the end of 1999 he joined legal practice of “Arthur Andersen” and then of “Ernst & Young” and worked at these internationally recognized firms until 2004, when he established a legal bureau (i.e. solo practice) under the name of “Leges Advokat”, which was reorganized into a law firm in 2005 and has become one of the leading law firms of the Central Asian region.
Azamat handles domestic and international finance transactions, with a focus on project and corporate financing and syndicated loans. He regularly advises local and foreign banks, international financial institutions and investment banks (either as lenders or arrangers) as well as borrower companies.
He also handles various corporate law matters and provides advice on a broad range of transactions including commercial contracts, joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements.
Azamat is highly regarded by his international and local clients, and is continuously recognized as Band 1 / Tier 1 lawyer in Uzbekistan by such worldwide legal directories as Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, which list him.
