Successful settlement of a tax dispute using linguistic examination

Legal Alliance Company has successfully represented a client in a tax dispute regarding augmented obligation of land tax payment. Legal services were provided from the time of administrative appeal and till completion of the case consideration in court, however, supervisory authorities refused from setting aside the controversial judgement at all stages.

Tax agents insisted on applying to the client a standard land tax rate(1%) instead of a preferential one (0.01%), and consequently overstated tax obligations and imposed fine on the client.

However, counsel Vitalii Savchuk and associate Yaroslav Furiaka proved correctness of tax calculations by the client proving the position with the independent linguistic examination of legal norms. The claim has been satisfied in full and it has been proved that the supervisory authorities incorrectly interpreted controversial provisions of the legislation.

Now not only the client will be able to recover the funds overpaid to the state budget, but also confidently use the reduced tax rate in the future.
