Legal Alliance Represents Interests of an IT Company In a Criminal Case of Unauthorized Access to Automated Systems

Lawyers of Criminal Law Practice of Legal Alliance Company Illya Kostin and Iryna Shlyakhovska successfully represented interests of the IT company in a criminal case of unauthorized access to automated systems.

On February 17th, 2017 court ordered search at the IT company’s premises during which all company’s property such as equipment, documentation, as well as personal belongings of more than twenty employees of the company was seized. The reason for the search was the pre-trial investigation of unauthorized interference in the operation of automated systems, which, in the opinion of the investigative authorities, was carried out using resources belonging to the IT company. As a result, the property, including seized mobile phones of employees, was arrested.

In connection with this, lawyers of Legal Alliance appealed against the decision to impose arrest. Approximately 26 motions to remove the arrest from the property were processed as well as 26 complaints about the obligation to return the property, and 26 applications for the removal of the investigation team. Criminal proceedings are still pending and at the moment, due to the efforts of lawyers, the arrest of personal belongings of employees has been cancelled and legal tools have been applied to return the company's property and personal belongings of employees.
