As a legal partner of the SAFEMed project, LA Law Firm joined the team tasked with drafting the CMU's resolution on medicinal product verification.
Medicines verification is a key component of Ukraine's European integration efforts and a powerful tool for combating the circulation of counterfeit medicines.
On September 26, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 1121, "Certain Issues of Safety and Verification of Medicines." This resolution approved the following:
- Regulations on the National System of Verification of Medicines;
- Procedures for applying security measures to medicines packaging, including specifications, verification methods, and requirements for encryption, structure, and format of security information;
- Amendments to the Licensing Conditions for manufacturing, wholesale, retail trade, and import of medicines (excluding active pharmaceutical ingredients), approved by the CMU's Resolution No. 929 of November 30, 2016 in terms of labeling and prohibition of opening secondary packaging of medicines on which safety devices are applied.
