Legal Alliance Company held a workshop with the subject as follows: “Land-related transactions. New rules of play”

April 09, 2010: A land law workshop “Land-related transactions. New rules of play” took place. The event was organized by the Office of Ukrainian Bar Association in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Legal Alliance Company.

The Crimean Chamber of Commerce and Industry acted as the host for the workshop.

At the workshop the following matters were subject to discussion: new land registration regulations (rules) effective as of 01.05.2009, incorporation or division of land plots, new requirements to technical land management documentation, and the new state land ownership act, obtaining state land ownership acts, provisional procedure for commissioning of ready residential houses etc.

Irina Pustovitenko, Partner of Legal Alliance Company, made her presentation for the workshop participants about registration of land-related transactions as pursuant to the applicable regulatory acts. Sergey Titkov, Deputy Chairman of the Commercial Court of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, gave the outline of a court practice as an element of legal regulation of the land market relations in Ukraine. He delivered the analysis of the existing practice case-law of the Higher Commercial Court and the Supreme Court of Ukraine with respect to the above issues. Putting focus on the current problems, the speaker offered some solutions from the point of view of a practical judge.

Tamara Belousova, Deputy Head, the Land Resources Committee of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, gave her overview of the so-called laws supporting land developers and land users. During the discussion the participants gave their assessment of the actual opportunities provided in the said normative acts.
