Andriy Gorbatenko Delivered a Report at the 5th Professional Conference "Protection of Intellectual Property: Practice in Pharmaceutical Branch"
On December 17, this year, in Kyiv, the 5th Professional Conference "Protection of Intellectual Property: Practice in Pharmaceutical Branch" took place. The subject of the Conference became topical due to the fact that the pharmaceutical branch is an increased risk zone in the context of violations of intellectual property rights.
The representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, the State Department of Intellectual Property, legal experts, attorneys, lawyers, manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, their distributors took part in the event.
The speakers of the Conference considered such issues as legal protection of pharmaceuticals' names, composition, and manufacturing method, the effective legislation regarding the intellectual property and the registration of pharmaceuticals, protection of intellectual property rights through state bodies and court instances, as well as features of effecting forensic examinations in the sphere of pharmaceutics.
The report of Andriy Gorbatenko, senior lawyer of Legal Alliance Company, in the subject "Protection of Rights to Marks for Goods and Services for Pharmaceuticals with Non-resident's Participation" revived the participants' interest.
According to Mr. Gorbatenko's words, the event was interesting for both specialists in jurisprudence and representatives of the pharmaceutical market. The keen interest in the event evidences that for manufacturers the topicality of issues of intellectual property rights' protection is being stably increased. For the last few years, the judicial practice in these issues has been considerably enriched, though common approaches to certain aspects have not been developed yet. The specialists' experience exchange within the framework of such events contributes to the development of such common approaches and therefore contributes to the true and timely decision making.
