Partner of Legal Alliance Speaks before Annual National Forum “Mergers and Acquisitions in Ukraine”

The Annual National Forum ‘Mergers and Acquisitions in Ukraine,' designed as an opportunity for in-depth information exchange on the current status of the Ukrainian corporate control market, started on September 21st in Kiev.

An important part of presentations made at the forum by leading attorneys, consultants, independent experts and representatives of the government was a report by Anatoly Menshikov, Partner of Legal Alliance law firm. In his speech, Mr. Menshikov analysed the status of protection of titles to properties in Ukraine held by Russian residents. The presenter emphasised the high importance of this topic and pointed out that property issues have been among the most acute throughout the ex-Soviet states and that gaps and conflicts inherent in Ukrainian laws often created fertile ground for hostile acquisition of properties in the country.
